Income insurance gives you 80% of your pay if you lose your job/finish your PhD.

Everyone working in Sweden with a general work permit is covered by unemployment insurance.
If you are member of A-kassa, you will receive benefits based on your previous income at a maximum of SEK 1,200 per day before taxes (SEK 26,400 a month).
The following criterial is to be met, in order to receive the income-related benefit when you are unemployed:
A compensation period is 300 days long and it always starts with six waiting days.
<aside> 💡 If you are a member for less than 12 months on the day you are unemployed, you will receive a maximum of 510 SEK/day before Tax. Once you have been a member for 12 months, you are entitled to benefits based on your salary (maximum 1,200 SEK/day).

<aside> 💡 Without a membership in a-kassa, the income insurance with the Union (SACO) does not apply.
