It is recommended to take a housing insurance during your stay in Sweden. It can be very expensive if something happens to your apartment and you don’t have an insurance. The housing insurance helps you to cover costs in case of

• fire, robbery or water damage
• liability and legal related expenses
• travel related costs (travel insurance)

Most of the housing insurances also include a wide range of travel insurance. This might be important to few students based on the needs. It helps you in the case of a lost baggage, robbery and thievery (phones, bicycles), and for travelling outside EU/EEA/Nordic country or Switzerland.
