CID is an abbreviation for Chalmers IDentity. It is used to uniquely identify a person.

Your CID, in combination with your Chalmers password, are used to login to computers and systems. A CID is always written in lowercase when used.

Activate your CID (Chalmers account) in MyAccount

Step 1: Go to MyAccount

• https://myaccount.chalmers.se/

Step 2: Select login service and login

• The following login methods can be used to activate your CID
  • BankID
  • antagning.se / universityadmissions.se
  • GU account
  • eduID
  • Freja eID Plus
  • SWAMID (account at another university)

Step 3: Activate your CID

• Select: Activate CID
  • Your CID will be displayed on the page
  • Enter the password you want for your CID twice
  • Save and wait
• Once your password is saved, you will be taken to a new page confirming that you have activated your CID.
  • You will then be logged out of MyAccount and returned to the login page.

If you receive an error message, it may mean that the password was not accepted. Try a different password. It takes time to save the password, so wait. You will either succeed or receive an error message. Do not go back to the main page, do not reload the page, and do not log in again.
